WV Breeder burns word into daughter’s neck
W.Va. mom accused of burning ‘wimp’ into child:
If your 6-year-old daughter tripped and fell what would you do? Most normal parents would make sure that she was ok and tend to any wounds she may have received.
Not 43-year-old Tammy Smith of Moundsville, West Virginia. Instead of tending to her daughter’s well being she burned the word ‘wimp’ on the back of her daughters neck.
The article doesn’t say what Smith used to make the burns but I would lay odds that she used cigarettes and I bet they were Newports too.

She used old scrabble pieces, heated up on a hotplate. And she meant to spell “winner” but you know how West Virginians spell.

I live in WV. I am a parent to a wonderful (adopted through foster care) 5 y/o boy. I can spell. I have all of my teeth. I am NOT inbred. I have a Masters Degree. My husband was a pilot for an airline but has recently taken a different job to be home more with us. Neither of us smoke. I would never consider harming my child, nor any of the 17 foster children who have been placed in my home over the years.
What that woman did to her child was horrible, and she should be punished for her actions. There’s no excuse for intentionally harming a child.
But, don’t lump all West Virginians into the same category. That’s offensive and unnecessary. EVERY state has a Child Protective Services unit for a reason…
