Parents Behaving Badly

Hey… Maybe it’s time to stop drinking!

by joelnet on June 24th, 2008

martini glass A judge granted Erin Howard temporary leave of jail to attend her sons funeral. She was doing time after a drunk driving accident resulted in her 6-year-old son’s death on her 26th birthday.

Events like this should serve as a big wake up call to yourself, “Hey… Maybe it’s time to stop drinking!” Well, not to Erin.

After the funeral she was to (of course) report back to jail, instead drove straight to the closest bar to throw back a few.

I’m sure it’s gotta be hard attending your sons funeral, especially when you are responsible for his death, but show your son some respect and stop drinking!

When I used to drink I could not remember any of my responsibilities. So alcohol can bring mess in your life.

    Ok….. one question….

Why wasn’t this woman escorted by a prison guard???

One more question … why does a convicted criminal - responsible for her own child’s death, no less - get the same privileges as law-abiding citizens? Attending her baby’s funeral is no longer her right since she caused his death and went to jail for it.

If the judge really wanted to see her sober up, he should have kept her in jail for a long, long time where she wouldn’t have access to booze. And she could spend her sober moments thinking about what she did.
