Dad Drives Drunk with Baby Then Leaves Her Home Alone
In Grand Island, Nebraska, Michael L. Van Boening, 23, was charged with intentional child abuse for leaving his eight-month-old daughter home alone while the baby’s mom was at work. Just a week before that, Van Boening was charged for driving drunk with the little girl in the car. He was charged with felony child abuse for that incident.
What was this guy thinking? Party with the baby then go for a drive plastered? This guy’s picture must be next to STUPID in the dictionary. He even had a bottle of black-cherry-flavored vodka in the car with him. Wondered if he remembered a bottle - of milk - for the baby.
Kudos to Van Boening’s girlfriend. She had the guts to call the cops on him when she returned home to find the baby home alone and this loser nowhere in sight - at 2 in the morning.
A judge released on Van Boening on his own recognizance and ordered him not to have any contact with his daughter. If I was his girlfriend, I’d split…fast.

Kudos to the girlfriend for reporting the damn loser! I hope she split for good and will keep the baby away from him!

I have my doubts about the mothers priorities. She already knew of his conviction for drunk driving with their daughter in the vehicle yet she STILL left the baby in his care. I do hope after this incident she’s finished with him and will do everything to protect her baby.

Glad the girlfriend seems to be coming to her senses and turned the loser in. But wouldn’t you have waited until the louse came home, kicked the living shit out of him for leaving your baby THEN called the cops? Maybe I’m just being vindictive …

I heard about a guy on the Today show this morning who had a little girl in the backseat, not buckled in, while he had a six pack of beer in the front seat. The beer was buckled in. Seriously, some people just shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce.

mowse, I totally agree. I like to give everyone a chance to right a wrong which is what she is doing. But, I doubt he was an upstanding citizen before the child came along. Before women have children with these guys they should think about what kind of dad they would make. Unforntunately they don’t think about that. If she knew he was a heavy drinker and was already in trouble for driving with the baby while intoxicated, then shame on her for leaving the child with him. Good thing he’s away from them.
