Jason Ray Flick Tortures and Abuses Toddler Son with Snake, Hot Sauce, Gun, and Permanent Marker
I think I may just have to give this guy the Parents Behaving Badly Award of the Year. In Somerset, Pennsylvania, Jason Ray Flick, 27, was arrested for abusing his two-year-old son. Flick was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Witnesses say that Flick shot the toddler with an air soft gun. They also told police that he spanked his son on the butt so hard that the child was unable to breathe. Flick also forced the boy’s mouth open so he could pour hot sauce down his throat. This sadistic “dad” also placed beer in the boy’s sippy cup just to watch him drink it.
If that isn’t bad enough, Flick wrapped a live snake around his neck, and forced the hysterical child to wear it for five minutes. This sick fuck also Drew a sexually explicit picture on the child’s face with a permanent marker. Then he used the marker to draw a mustache, goatee and large eyebrows on the boy and then wrote cuss words on the his body.
Bet Flick thought this was a real laugh riot. WTF!
The abuse had been going on since December 2006 and only ended when the little boy’s skull and leg were fractured and his parents brought him to the hospital. Medical personnel then called police to report the abuse.
Wondering where this child’s mom was? Rogi Spangler, 19, is still being investigated and police have not ruled out filing charges against her too. I hope so.
Flick is jailed on $25,000 bond. He is not allowed to have contact with his son, any child or any potential witnesses. The boy is in foster care.

What a goofy looking asshole. I’m glad he’s in jail but I am curious as to the whereabouts of the 19 year old mother.

How many things wrong with this picture? Some math maybe: Mom is 19, was 17 or so when she had the boy. And “Dad” was 25. Not a great situation a 25 year old loser with a just over 16 year old?

Once again, at a loss for words. It is so amazing that people like this exist in our world. Obviously the two adults are not normal. How can someone be such a loser??? I feel sorry that a child was created between these two morons. The only good thing to come of this is hopefully the child will be adopted into a loving home and will never have contact with these two again. It’s also too bad that people like this can’t be sterilized. I know that’s far fetched but cases like this should have punishment like that.

Hey, look at this man! Can you imagine what his angry “f*ck you” face looks like? *shudders in fright* Poor baby must’ve been terrified! You know, most toddlers are helpless and they are so innocent! They should’ve been treated with loving, fragile care, like you care for a fine silk fabric! That hateful asshat doesn’t deserve to procreate ever again! T_T >_o

They need to charge both of them, you are telling me the mom was too weak minded or didn’t care enough to get her child out of those conditioned. She deserves to be burned as well. Yup he should get the award.

HAHAHA CSI is a favorite TV show of hers?!!!!! Good Heavens, maybe they’ll recreate her story for the show. Also with her being 19 and him being in his mid 20’s that means he started with her before she was 18 (if he’s the boys father) also she says her Man is a fox, it’s true Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…. woof, woof is more like it to me.

She’s expecting another baby? WTF?!!! Why is it that dumb girls like her can just keep popping them out when it’s clear that they aren’t going to be taken care of, unless someone else steps in. She’s 19 and expecting her second child, the first in foster care. What a winner! (sarcasm)

It would be interesting for the world if “someone” would put up a myspace page on these creatures showing what they are really like. Put up pictures of what they did, details of how they did it, the stupid excuses they gave.

I am also wondering about her being 19, having a 2 yr old, and pregnant again. What’s the statuatory rape laws in that state? Considering the age difference, you know that he’s had a lot of influence over her. Maybe this will awaken her, if anything is possible. Again, where’s the rest of the family and how did all of this come out as a result of the fractured skull and leg? How did they happen? Who are the witnesses? Yet again, so many missing puzzle pieces and examples of people having children too young and not being the proper examples.

This is why I hate it when people don’t understand why I react so badly to animal abuse. I went to school where boys regularly swerved to hit animals, and who would see nothing wrong with doing what this man did to his child to a cat.
But ten bucks says this man showed warning signs of his horrible child-abusing behavior, and no one commented on it because it was “just an animal” that time. He probably saw nothing wrong with shotting the neighbor’s cat with the air-gun, or forcing his dog to eat hot-sauce.
When you take advantage of your position of power to abuse the helpless there. is. something. wrong. with. you.
When you are amused by the pain and fear of others, There is something wrong with you!
When you have no empathy for the helpless, you have a flawed soul.
You should be locked up where you can’t hurt others. There should be no laughter at this kind of behavior. There should be no “boys will be boys” attitude. It is never healthy. And if we catch these monsters early enough, we might be able to prevent a child from being abused like this.

Kitty, well said! Sometimes I sit in movie theaters and wonder what is wrong with these people who are laughing at the scene where someone’s head gets ripped off. These are the same people who start out abusing animals then escalate to abusing children.
Anyone who finds humor in suffering - real or pretend - has a screw loose. Let’s nominate this guy as poster child for the “Sicko Bullies” society. And to think, I actually feel guilty when I insist my son finish his mac and cheese before getting ice cream for dessert!

I can have kids too;
To be fair, you don’t laugh because something is good. You laugh because your brain realizes that there is something wrong, or illogical with the situation. Laughing at something doesn’t necessarily mean condoning it.
Hence, laughing at people’s heads getting ripped off doesn’t necessarily mean you are callus. It could be a sign that the fact that these things exist causes you so much pain that this is the only way you can cope and stay sane.
For instance: I am a militant feminist. I laugh as some pretty horrible jokes when they are told by women who survive abusive situations because it’s a way for them to process what happened to them and stay sane.
I have a friend whose family suffered horribly during the Holocaust. He has a friend who is half German, and he likes to sing “Juden Roasting on an open fire.” as a way of making it a “traditional German Christmas.” The friend thinks this is the funniest thing on earth. He’s ashamed that members of his mother’s family were Nazis, and it helps him cope. They sit together, arm on each other’s shoulders, and sing it as a duet.
It’s a way for both of them to say “It’s wrong, and illogical, and yet it exists.” The laughter is a sign of bravery, of unwillingness to break in an often horrifying world.
What I have a problem with is people who laugh at things that are really happening, right in front of them. Like a man who sets his cat’s tail on fire and laughs at the cat running around in a panic. Or people who play “practical jokes” that cause pain, or put others in danger.
I will never understand that.

That reminds me of a story i heard about a couple in Nevada. For their hobby, they’d get drunk, drive out into the desert at night where they’d set traps, and catch young baby coyotes. They’d free the animal and strap either a large stick of explosive or a bundle of smaller explosives, such as half-sticks, to the animal, light it, and release it to watch it run off into the distance and explode. They did this for a while and got away with it, then one night they caught a baby coyote. They did their usual, strapped on, lit, and released. This one was different though, and instead of running away from them, it ran to their car and hid underneath. Cops picked them up walking home at 4 am on the side of the road.
For some reason the human brain recoils in disgust at the thought of them torturing these animals, yet finds the comeuppance, where their car gets blown to pieces and they get arrested, funny. It’s all about empathy. In this scenario you empathize with the baby coyote, and fool yourself into thinking so much about how the couple deserved what they got that you can conveniently ignore that the baby coyote was also blown to pieces.
Some movies it’s simply the shock value, like the Final Destination series. Other movies, it’s “deserved revenge” or the little guy finally sticking it to the bully by any means necessary.
Reacting to a viewed situation or image isn’t the same as participating, and the examples i cited are nowhere near animal abuse done directly.

You are right Yoshi. A joke or movie is not the same as real life. Still, there are some who think that the constant exposure to violence (real or not) can cause some people to commit it more in real life.

i have watched lots of violence in movies, and i find jokes that most people would find offensive funny, but i know the difference between right and wrong and thats the crux of the “violence in movies causes violence in society” argument.
if you watch a horror movie and then go out and kill some folks in a simlilar style, yeah the film might have given you some ideas, but for you to carry them out means you must be disturbed or dissasociative.
Everything this guy did sounds truly awful, apart from drawing on the kids face with a marker, that doesnt sound that terrible to be honest, does it really compare to shooting him with an air rifle, forced hot sauce consumption or beer in a sippy cup? somehow i think not.
