Parents Behaving Badly

8-month-old dies after meth pipe swab is used to clean his nose

by joelnet on September 4th, 2007

meth pipe and baby bottle Elizabeth Reta, 27 and her boyfriend Juan Antonio Sanchez Jr. are being booked for felony child abuse after a used meth pipe swab was used to clean his nose. They may be facing additional charges now that the boy has died.

Upon further inspection the baby boy also had a fractured skull, a broken arm and pneumonia. Obviously a quality couple with top notch parenting skills.

WTF is wrong with people. Take these babies to the fire department and leave them there. They will be better off in the long run if you do!!

WTF? This is mind blowing. Meth is evil. That poor angel suffered and they should too.

Here’s a link to Elizabeth’s MySpace profile (lots of pics of her kids… hm). Oh, and she’s looking for a “family man.”

Her profile also says she doesn’t drink or smoke…I guess meth doesn’t count…

Worse … she had the gall to post that beautiful sentiment from Winnie the Pooh: “If you live to be 100, I want to live to be 100 minus one day so that I never have to live without you.” Gee, doesn’t seem like she’s too broken up about the prospect of living without her child, though.

If my baby died because of my idiocy, I wouldn’t need the courts to punish me. I’d take a long jump off a tall bridge all on my own.

I wonder what the cause of death was…seems weird that a cotton ball with resin on it would kill the baby. I’m thinking bleeding on the brain from the fractured skull sounds more like the cause of death. Then, I’m no doctor. Either way, it’s a shame CPS couldn’t have stepped in earlier and taken the baby before he died. Um, was she not tested for drugs after the birth of her baby? Meth users look like meth users. I hate to say it, but they do!

The baby was 8 months old. From the looks of her myspace page, she was probably single at the time of the baby’s birth and probably wasn’t using. Chances are, this boyfriend is the one who brought the meth in the house. Seems like it could be possible since she said she didn’t know that the swab had been used to clean a pipe. One of the articles linked above says physical injuries may have been caused when she was trying to rouse the baby from the seizure. But how the hell do you fracture a baby’s skull and break his arm trying to wake him up?
Also, I understand if the baby had pneumonia, his nose may have been runny or clogged or whatever, but why would you just pick up any old swab lying around and stick it in your baby’s nose? That’s just dirty.
Anyway, if she isn’t the meth user and her boyfriend is this would make this just another case of a mother losing her baby because she was desperate for a man…ANY man. Someone needs to wake these women up!

I like under Music where she has “ANYTHING THAT IS CHRISTIAN” so now we’re doing meth and abusing our babies in the name of God? Give me a break, it’s people like her that give “love” and “christianity” a bad name!

You should never stick a cotton swab up a babies nose, ever. The ends of those things have been known to break off and could get stuck a babies breathing passage. One of those bulbs that you suck out a babies nose with cost like four dollars. This woman is stupid and should be sterilized.

Another case of dumbf*ck parents who should be shot…
