  uuummmmm how did they find out about all of this to begin with? Who or what tipped the police off? Could it be that other family members saw her preggo and was starting to wonder what happened to these babies? This is just sickening, was there any father’s involved with the other 4 children, and what about the father(s) to these fetuses? Sounds like this woman needs to have her insides removed, she obviously hasn’t been using birthcontrol and obviously can’t keep her legs crossed/pants up. This is just disgusting that someone would do this and then have their other children around all of this as well? EEEWWWW!!!!

  It was stories like this that caused me to cry my eyes out and scream at God when my husband and I were trying to conceive. Why is it, that those of us that can and WILL provide for the children that we are blessed with are the ones that deal with infertility? Every single one of those babies could have been given up for adoption and they would have found homes immediately. Life is unfair.
  Birth control is EASY, permanent sterilization is EASY, keeping your legs closed is EASY, purposefully making yourself miscarry babies that are over the 3 month limit for abortion is HARD. AND SHE DID IT MORETHAN ONEC!! There was so much thought and effort put into this. She deserves to have her reproductive organs removed with a rusty tin can lid. I’d do it for free.

  what was she doing to herself to make herself lose these babies “Freeman was covered in bruises on her legs, stomach and arms”, how do you stand in your room or whereever and beat the crap out of yourself and no one notice? And, are we sure she didn’t have someone helping her? After all, for those of us who have had children, unless you have ALOT wrong with reproductice organs, the majority of normal pregnancys….the baby is so well protective inside of you that I can’t see how someone could possibly beat themselves up enough to miscarry or whatever a baby! Sounds like a “father” of these babies could have been hitting her numerous times with something to assist in the “abortion”? If someone has more info on this case, point us in the right direction, I have tons of questions on this one! :)

  oh my, read this article, from the UK, it’s a mother with two kids that has written a book about NOT having kids, why their such a pain,etc. Her book is causing a major outcry.

  Agree with Susan…Really where are the fathers? And if the count is right, she has 4 dead and 4 alive? Damn!? What a weirdo to have the fetuses around the house? I don’t think they have too much info of WHY she did this since she seems to be keeping her mouth shut…geez what a miracle that she keeps anything shut besides her legs>?!

  Police found the most newly delivered child, a baby boy, in the vanity below a bathroom sink at Christy Freeman’s home, according to charging documents. A further search found the corpses of two other babies in a trunk in her bedroom and another in a small recreational vehicle parked in her driveway.

  “They were not full-term children,” Barry Neeb, an Ocean City Police Department spokesman, said of all the babies.”

  Here’s something that finally mentions the boyfriend part in all of this….

  “Her boyfriend, Raymond W. Godman Jr., said Freeman had passed out in the bathroom and he carried her to the sofa, according to the charging documents. She was lying down and bleeding heavily, and had a garbage bag and towels under her. Freeman told rescue workers she was not and had not been pregnant.

  She was taken to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, where tests by doctors determined she had been pregnant. Freeman maintained that was not the case, the charging documents said. After she was transferred to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, doctors there found a placenta that was between 30 to 36 weeks old and an umbilical cord with an “irregular cut.”

  Freeman eventually told police that she had delivered a dead and deformed baby - claiming that she did not see any hands or feet - and that she had flushed the body down the toilet, charging documents said”

  The thing is, their saying in this article that her boyfriend (from what I gather in the article, they have been together since 1988 and the 4 alive children are his as well) is not going to be charged with anything, which I think is complete monkey crap!!! First he denied that she had been preggo, which then only hindered getting proper care to her, then he said she flushed the baby down the toilet, then he finally fessed up. Second, he obviously must have known about these other babies as well, so how is he not an accomplise in some way to the murder of these babies, not to mention give false information to authorities, etc?????? These people are disgusting!!

  In a stunning turn to a sensational case, prosecutors dropped murder charges yesterday against an Ocean City woman in the death of her pre-term baby last week but charged her with killing a full-term infant she gave birth to several years earlier, authorities announced.

  While in custody on the earlier charge, Christy L. Freeman, 37, told a police detective that she had given birth to twins several years ago and let at least one drown in the toilet before stowing it beneath her bathroom sink, according to police charging documents.
  “Freeman stated she took full responsibility for what she did,” Ocean City Detective Vicki L. Martin wrote in the statement of charges.
  Police initially charged Freeman with murder in the death of a baby born at 26 weeks, and Worcester County State’s Attorney Joel J. Todd said he would prosecute her under a 2005 statute that criminalizes the killing of a “viable fetus.”

  Be sure to read all of the article, apparently this story has now changed some and new charges have been brought against her while other charges have been dropped.

  Still, how can this mother KNOWINGLY drown her baby in the toilet? She needs some serious mental health help here!!

  “The Department of Social Services had been called to the couple’s home before, Neeb said, but he couldn’t say when or why. A telephone message left with the department was not immediately returned Tuesday.

  Neighbors told The Associated Press that the couple’s children were unkempt, sometimes going without coats in the winter. Other cabbies in town contacted by the AP described Freeman as untidy and unpleasant, though none seemed to know she had been pregnant recently.

  Freeman professed her innocence in a bail hearing Monday but didn’t offer an explanation for the set of four remains, all of which police presume to be hers.

  She awaits an Aug. 27 preliminary hearing. A lawyer who represented Freeman at her bond hearing has stopped representing her, and the court clerk’s office said she has not obtained a new attorney.”

  I’ll probably be pilloried for saying this but we shouldn’t be surprised that so many people seem to have no value for the life of a newborn. As a society, we have little regard for the lives of the unborn.

  For people who believe that a fetus is just a meaningless clump of parasitic cells, it’s probably a difficult leap to think of this clump as a human being just because it’s close to or is full term.

  This woman would have been considered by many to be within her rights if she’d chosen a legal means of abortion, instead of cheaping out and trying her own “at-home” brand.

  yeah true ihavekidstoo, but it makes you wonder, why did she keep their dead bodies instead of at least burying them somewhere? It’s like she knew what she was doing was wrong, that maybe these babies were actually full term births, as the one story suggests where she drowned the one twin after she had it in the toilet, she waited for it to die before she got it out and then hid it behind the vanity! That doesn’t sound like an “at home abortion” to me, that’s a fullterm birth, and I’m sure we’ll probably find out that the others were fullterm as well, she just didn’t want the expense or trouble apparently of going to a hospital and giving these children up for adoption! The thing I find even more outrageous is the fact that the father to all of these babies and her 4 children that are alive is that he hasn’t been charged with anything, hell, the man claims he didn’t even know she was preggo???? They already had 4 children together, so it’s not like he didn’t know the “signs” of pregnancy, and okay, maybe she could hide one pregnancy, but a total of 4? This man sounds just as retarded as she is! I think he needs to have some type of accomplise charges brought against him as well, and if we find out he had anything to do with all of the bruises on her that helped her “miscarry” any of these babies, then he should be charged with murder as well!

  Susan, I agree 110 percent the “sire” (I won’t call him a father since he obviously hasn’t a clue what it means to really BE a father) should be charged too. Why the hell do prosecutors always seem to let the men go free in these cases? Look at the Andrea Rates case. Now THERE’S a man who needed to sit in prison with his balls in a vice for a good long while.

  There’s no way the male in this case didn’t know this was going on. For one thing, dead bodies stink, no matter how small they are, so he at least knew there was something dead lying around.

  I feel for the four living kids. No one wants to think their mother is evil and/or a nut job. I hope they can get some serious therapy and live happy, productive lives despite all this.

  The men get away with it in cases like these because of the burden of proof. Unless, the woman implicates him in the act, it is up to the state to PROVE that he had knowledge or was involved. So technically he could say “Der…I’m a dumbass, I didn’t know” and be free. It really is unfair. Females aren’t allowed that luxury. Even if you didn’t know you were pregnant, once that baby comes out, there ain’t no denying it.
  Still, I think she is no better than an animal. Spay her like one and cage her.

  Kathy the thing is, he lied to the police several times about what happened with her, first it states:

Freeman told rescue workers she was not and had not been pregnant.” Okay, did he not question why there was all of this blood (I know when I had my daughter, that evening quite a few hours after having her, I started bleeding real bad, it was such a large amount of blood that there was no denying there was a problem, I ended up having to get two pints of blood!), did he not look her over for injuries, did he not look around the room for something not right? Anyone with even a small trace of common sense would have been questioning what was going on, but apparently not him because:

  Ok, so he’s denying she was pregnant, continues with that story even after it’s proven that she was pregnant. So then the story CHANGED to:

  Again, how could he not have noticed this??? That must have been one hell of a tiny baby and one hell of a big toilet drain!! My toilet gets backed up with just a small amount of toilet paper/poo being in there, surely a small baby would have caused the toilet to overflow! Again, I think the “father” in this case knew more then he’s letting on to, shoot, he probably helped her with some of them, but of course, she will probably take the heat for everything (did he not notice all of the bruises on her and question those as well, or is he the one that helped caused those bruises??) for the sake of love for her man!

  I have to agree with ihavekidstoo, I have always been pro-life (and I take a lot of flack for it at more mainstream parenting sites when I speak up and say that I am) and this is a big reason why. I really believe that abortion has cheapened our value on the life of an infant. I kind of find it ironic that she could have gone to any clinic four times over and had a doctor do pretty much what she did at home herself and it would have been called a “choice” and she wouldn’t be facing the charges that she is. A friend of mine miscarried at around 12 weeks a few years back and the baby came out fully intact. He was about the size of a jellybean, but you could see his tiny hands, feet, fingers, and you could even see that he was a boy. These people who say that it’s just a “clump of cells” need to wake up; it really is amazing how early on in the pregnancy that the hands, feet, and major organs all form and the rest of the time the baby just spends getting bigger.

  This story is disturbing on so many levels. If she didn’t want any more children why did she not get her tubes tied after her fourth child was born? Why keep getting pregnant AGAIN AND AGAIN (that’s what I cannot get over that she didn’t seem to learn after the first time it happened and kept getting pregnant) Or what about adoption? And then to store the bodies in her house like you would store souvenirs; that is just sickening and bizarre.

  Honestly, my take on this is that the woman really doesn’t have both oars in the water. She looks completely bewildered in her picture.
  If she was covered in bruises, it’s entirely possible that her “boyfriend” beat the baby out of her. Has anyone checked in that? Maybe that’s happened more than once and she just couldn’t bear to be parted from her (don’t forget, these were pre-term) babies. Maybe they were all still born, or too weak to live without special support.
  I’m not trying to stick up for the woman, exactly, but something about this story sounds real fishy to me. I think the boyfriend/father had more to do with this, and it will come out if the police do further investigation.

  jaleja - not all of these were pre-term births, if you read the information in the other links provided (in some of the other comments I posted) concerning this case, she admits to giving birth to twins, one of the bodies the police found was of a fullterm baby…it was one of the twins that she admits to giving birth to and letting drown in the toilet, then hiding the body behind the vanity, and if I recall correctly, the other twin I think they found the body of it also. The other bodies their not sure about and are supposedly running tests on, their just assuming right now that the others were not fullterm because she says they were stillborn…once the tests come back, they might be able to say more about how these other babies died and how “old” they were. I agree though that the father was probably in on most of this and she’s taking the fall for him because she’s in love. I haven’t seen any recent updates on this so who knows what’s going on now.

  Susan, I misunderstood, then. When the article uses the term “fetuses” instead of babies, and says that she is being brought on charges of deliberately causing stillbirths, I figured the deceased babies were all preterm.
  And I don’t believe all that about twins and babies down toilets. If a baby was big enough to live outside of the womb, then it should have been too big to flush down a toilet. Still sounds to me like she is not all there mentally. I’ll be interested to hear what comes out if the DA decides to go forward with this case.

  As a matter of fact, there was an article on the news today (I sent the link to this blog) about a woman who did try to flush her newborn baby down the toilet. It wouldn’t go down the drain, and she tried 3 times. That was a premature baby, but only by one month. So this woman saying she flushed a baby down the toilet is probably just something she’s saying and never did.

  I think she said she tried to flush it down the toilet, but when it didn’t go down, she just let it drown, then hid the body behind the vanity. I agree though, she’s not all there in the head! The articles state she had brusies all over her body, which makes them wonder who did the bruises to her or did she do those herself, I still think the dad had more of a part in all of this then him and her are letting onto, after all, they already had 4 live kids, how do not know and hide so well 4 other pregnancies! The thing that stinks is that we may never hear the rest of this story, usually after a certain point, these kinds of stories fade away and we never get to hear the outcome.

  Interestingly enough, my mother-in-law was one of the nurses that triaged her. She was bleeding very heavily. My mother-in-law asked her if she was pregnant or just given birth and the lady denied it. She was very heavy so it was difficult to tell if she was pregnant or not. Anyway, she was flown to a bigger hospital where doctors helped deliver the placenta… then she changed her story. She lived with her boyfriend and 4 living children. I believe he is the father to most of them including the dead fetuses. I do not understand why she did this… she is not poor, she owns a cab company. Anyway, very bizarre story.

  apparently, the last baby was born dead, the medical examiner could not prove that the others were born alive and THERE IS A LAW PROTECTING WOMEN FROM PROSECUTION IN MARYLAND THAT ABORT THEIR OWN FETUSES!!! I guess in doesn’t even matter how far along the pregnancy is!! OMG! I hope this woman has her tubes tied. I believe that she was using abortion as a a method of birth control. I can;t believe that after doing it that many times that she was still able to become pregnant! I am so angry!

  Kathy - You beat me to the article posting! I just read this on Fox News and I am shocked! All Charges Dropped! It’s insane. I don’t agree with this loophole in MD, but I’m not surprised by it either. One thing everyone can hope for is that she and her twisted family are driven out of Ocean City! I hope she relocates to Mexico! Get the hell out of here you FREAK! Who causes their own miscarriages and then stashes the bodies in their home?!? SICK! SICK! SICK!

  Hmmm…just think, had she just stated, “I had a miscarraige,” instead of denying that she had ever been pregnant in the first place, alot of this could have been avoided. She brought this on herself and now she wants to SUE?!?!? There goes more taxpayer money down the drain.

  I would think she would want to disappear out of the spotlight as quickly as possible. Hopefully Md lawmakers will change this loophole so that people who store corpses in their home will be prosecuted. That’s just nasty. Not to mention if abortion is legal, there is no reason to dispose of a fetus in your home (if you cause your miscarriage) and if she truly miscarried those babies, then she should have been breaking the law to not go to the hospital for proper treatment and “disposal” of the fetuses. This whole story makes my skin crawl.
