Brandy Lynn and Kirk Seevers Abuse Twin Two-Year-Olds
It may be a matter of “he said, she said” but the facts are that twin two-year-old sisters were horribly abused by one or more of their adult caregivers.
Calista Torres had bruises covering her forehead, stomach, back, inner thighs, knees, face, and bottom. A CAT scan revealed an acute and chronic hemorrhage to her head. Callista’s sister, Raquel
Torres had healing fractures to her right forearm and a spiral fracture to the tibia of her left leg. Callista’s injuries required surgery to relieve the swelling in her brain.
Kirk Seevers who is charged with injuring to his 2-year-old stepdaughters is now pointing the finger at his wife, Brandy Lynn Seevers who’s facing the same charges. Brandy and her husband have been questioned twice by both Corpus Christi police and Child Protective Services. Brandy is sticking to her story.
Brandy told police she heard a “thump” from the baby room. When she went to check it out, she found her daughter, Callista, “unconscious, shaking on the floor and her eyes were back in her head.”
Kirk’s original story was that he saw Callista on the floor “breathing deep and wheezing.” When asked about the bruises covering Callista’s body, Brandy said that she “had not dropped any children” and Callista “bruised both her legs after getting them stuck in the corner of of the baby bed.”
While Brandy and Kirk’s stories were slightly different, neither admitted to causing the injuries. However, in the second interview, Kirk’s story completely changed. When asked who injured Callista, he said Brandy caused the injury. They were potty training the twins, and he watched Brandy pick Callista up in a rough manner. Then he saw Callista’s head hit the door frame of the bedroom, and described the force as enough to move her head backwards. When he went to check on Callista and saw her lying on the floor, he picked her up, and then took her to his wife. Brandy took the child to the hospital.
Kirk also said that he had witnessed Brandy assault the children in the past.
At the hospital, Brandy told the investigator that her daughters would not behave and were defiant. She went on to say that she felt helpless when the “girls would look at me with that face! I hate that face!”
Brandy was questioned after Kirk changed his story, and only minor details were different from her original story. She continued to deny injuring her twin daughters.
Brandy Seevers was convicted of abusing her seven-year-old daughter back in 2005 and is still on probation for that felony charge. She had received counseling and taken anger management classes following the 2005 abuse case and was cleared by Child Protective Services to take care of the twins. Kirk Seevers has a clean criminal record, and has never been part of a Child Protective Services investigation. The twins real father, Xavier Torres, has filed a lawsuit, asking for full custody of the girls. He and his ex-wife, Brandy Seevers share custody.
I haven’t had this much fun guessing who did it since the JonBenét Ramsey case. In both cases, my gut tells me it was mom who did it, while dad sat by and denied any abuse was going on. What do you think?

I don’t know why women who clearly have proved they are not ready to mother ANY children keep on having more and more. If she could not deal with parenting the twins-why not give them to their father to raise? I am getting sick and tired of grown women who are pissed about the way their life turned out-taking it out on innocent babies and children!

To answer your question, I don’t know who did it. But in cases like this one, it doesn’t matter. If “she” did it, he’s equally responsible - and vice versa.
They should both be sterilized, tossed in the slammer for good, and then subjected to whatever fun ‘n games are reserved for scum who hurt kids or allow kids to be hurt.
It could be so simple, couldn’t it?

Shit. Would it really be so hard to require to-be parents to take a parenting class? I mean, they might learn about Erikson’s stage of Autonomy vs. Guilt… defiant my ass.

Rosie - I’m right there with you, outside of immediately reporting the first sign of abuse, any adult in the household should be considered as fully culpable as whoever committed the actual abuse. And here is an idea - if you are found guilty of child abuse that is it, any future children are removed from your custody at birth. Why do these monsters keep getting chance after chance to parent when they are clearly incapable? Anything less then murdering your own child seems to be correctable by parenting classes- as far a CPS is concerned.

I have a 10-month old grandson. I have witnessed his mother(my daughter) screaming vulgarities at him. My daughter is involved with an older male who physically and verbally abuses my daughter and grandson. I contacted CPS after the last physical assault on myself, my grandchild, and daughter. The police became involved in this matter, as well as many others. My grandchild was placed in emergency custody with my husband and myself. My daughter was allowed to live with my husband, my 13 year old son, her child, and myself. She went out every night smoking pot, downing pills, and trying to be the biggest slut she could possibly be. She never had time for her child. When confronted with her behavior she fled with my grandchild. I contacted CPS by phone and E-mail about the status of my grandchild. I live in San Antonio, Tx. It has been a month since my report and CPS has failed to follow up on my grandchild’s case. CPS in San Antonio, Tx. has been vilified by the press in a 3 full page editorial in the Express News. Still they do nothing to rectify the bad press they have been given. Children are dying under the auspices of care under San Antonio CPS custody. I have done everything in my physical power to make sure my grandchild does not become a statistic in their long list of failures. I am getting nowhere. I feel I am beating my head against a stone wall. I am deeply spirtitual and I pray without ceasing. Faith without works is dead. I must make a stand against the apathetic and indifferent thinking. I have made it my mission in life to fight the mindset of San Antonio CPS. If your organization looks into the lack of diligence perpetrated in the State of Texas, you will see that I am not a loose cannon. I am thoroughly disgusted by the lack of cooperation I have received trying to save my grandchild.

Sandra,
My heart goes out to you. What a situation! You’ll be in my prayers.
I have a suggestion for how you can gain custody of your grandson. It’s what my own grandparents did 40 years ago when their son married a woman who was much like your daughter. They paid my biological parents cash in exchange for them signing papers relinquishing all rights to me and my brother. Of course, this had to be done with the help of a sympathetic and discrete attorney, because they didn’t want to be seen as “buying” a child. And the cash was a huge amount for the late 1960s.
But it worked. My biological parents signed away their rights and we never heard from either of them again. It was the best thing that could have happened to us.
If you can find your daughter and have the cash, this might be a way to gain custody of your grandson without having to deal with the useless CPS.
Best of luck to you!
