BREAKING: Police Believe Trenton Duckett Is Alive

by admin on November 15th, 2006

More on this later, as I’m getting kids out the door for school. For now, just a quick blitz about the big news that Police in Leesburg, Florida are opening a new investigation on the premise that Trenton Duckett is alive.

I hope they’re right. They seem confident that they are.

I’m rather glad they’re operating on this premise. There’s not much they can do for him if he is dead, but if he’s alive, they have a better chance of finding him if they assume that he is.

It appears the Marion County Sheriffs department believes he may have been handed off to someone. Orginal theories were thought to have included her “selling” him.

The story is taking even stranger twists with revelations she may have been involved in making adult videos.

Nancy Grace is scheduled to be in Leesburg, I think, tomorrow, Nov. 16th & 17th so I am sure this phase of his story is just developing.

Yeah MCA, I’ve seen searches on the adult videos thing hit my blog. Any info on that? It appears to be mere rumor at this point; I can’t find anything from a legitimate news source.

If anyone has any information, please let us know ASAP.

All I can find is it was from the private investigator P.A. Turner. It was reported at WKMG-TV in Orlando. I also have had several hits but don’t know if they are searching for the article or the pictures.

can you please leave her alone?
for those of us who knew mindy personally, its breaking out hearts to see you dragging her name through the mud.
she was a good person, i loved her, she was my friend.
do you really think you know more about her than i did? do you really think, that as a stranger, you’re more qualified to take into account the evidence AND her personality than i? i don’t think so.
leave the surmising to the invesigators and stop adding to the ruin of mindy’s memory.

Ashley, if people like you were half as dedicated in finding Trenton as defending Melinda, we might have a solved case.

Are you still denying that she had anything to do with this? If so, then explain where Trenton disappeared to in the 30 minutes between his mom’s stops at that Wendy’s. Did he just disappear into thin air? Who can vouch that they were watching Trenton for that time period? So far, the answer is “nobody”. Perhaps her friends and defenders are the ones hiding him…?

Sorry, but I don’t give a damn about Melinda Duckett’s “name”. What I care about is that little boy being found alive.

Here is a link with some of the videos.
http://www.local6.com/family/10322224/detail.html

Also there is a picture of her naked straddling the crib and it is reported that in one of the videos “a” baby can be heard crying in the back ground..
Ashley I am sorry about your friend, But this isn’t about her its about Trenton.
If Melinda’s memory is being dragged through the mud you can thank Melinda for that. She was the one who took the actions that cause people to question what she did.

Ashley, the best way for people to stop talking about Mindy, is for Trenton to be found. If you know of anyone she may have turned to, any small thing she may have said, even if it did not seem important at the time…..let investigators know. Some may feel that they need to keep quiet to protect her memory. But as long as Trenton is missing it will keep coming up. Kids who are missing are talked about for years. Right Amraann?

Absolutely!
We at my site and at many other crime related/missing sites work hard to make sure that is the case.
I again must question why on earth everyone is so worried about Melinda’s memory?
What about Trenton?? I have yet to hear anyone of her defenders say much about him. Except she was this fab mom.
There is eternity to spend to put Melinda on a pedistool. Right NOW Trenton is missing.
I personally think the best thing for Melinda’s memory would be that her friends who cherish her sooo much work to find her child.
Don’t you think, if she is this women you all wish us to believe, that she would have wanted that?
In reality Melinda herself should not have cared what others thought. She should have been more concerned with finding her son.

DO YOU FOR ONE SECOND THINK WE AREN’T DOING EVERYTHING WE CAN TO FIND HIM??? I AM IN UPSTATE NEW YORK! short of flying to FL nancy grace style and scuba diving myself, i’ve done all i can to help and it’s none of your business how. so maybe as some questions before you shoot your damn mouths off.
you have no clue what this is like for those of us who knew them personally.
this is HELL and absolute strangers putting their two cents in itsn’t helping ANYTHNG. do YOU think blogging here is helping anyone find trenton? NO.

“do YOU think blogging here is helping anyone find trenton?”

Yep. It’s keeping his name out there, which is about all I can do from Washington state.

We’re just saying, Ashley, that your stubborn insistence on Melinda’s innocence is blinding you. Thankfully, the investigators working this case don’t share that blindness. Right now, the only solid leads point to Melinda having done something with him.

Ashley…
I get it… you knew Melinda in NY.
Did you really know the women she became? Or just the memory of a teenage friend she once was?
I understand that it is easier to cast your anger and grief onto those of us online.
In reality the real anger and grief should be directed toward the person who caused much of this.
Melinda. I understand not wanting to be angry at your friend .. But when someone is an adult there is a thing called accountability. Melinda and Melinda alone is responsible for most of what is being said.
Looking at her life is the only thread of hope towards finding Trenton.
The fact is your friend’s child went missing.
She refused to help the police and then killed herself. That is NOT name calling her nor dispariging her memory. Those are the facts.
Ashley, you can still have fond memories of your friend while acknowledging that her behavoir and actions may have been wrong.
I am truly sorry for the position Melinda left all of her family and friends in.
Mostly I am sorry for Trenton. Unlike Most of you adults having a hard time coping with this, he is a 2 yo child who is lost.
I wonder if he is still alive what he thinks and wonders when he goes to sleep wishing for his parents?
If you really want to help Trenton from NY then you get involved and look at your friends actions with some objectivity.

As police are now working on a theory that Trenton is still alive, then the more times his name and face show up, whether online or off, the greater the chance that someone will recognize his face offline. So does blogging about it help? Heck yes!!! Does talking about her videos or her non-cooperation hinder that? No. She and she alone made her choices in life, she chose to do things her way, and she chose how she would die. No one else. Nor is it anyone else’s fault that she left so much to talk about. Normally, I wouldn’t be so concerned about the porn videos. Melinda was an adult, and the choice she made was an adult choice.. But the fact that the evidence of a child is so prevelent concerns me. Why would a web cam be pointed at the baby crib? Why would she be posing for the camera, naked in front of the crib? And why in the world would she be giving oral while holding a baby bottle? And that is just the legal videos. The question I am wondering about…are there any illegal videos out there?

I’m having a somewhat difficult time with the handing off Trenton theory. I just don’t see her handing him off. Considering all the past threats, throwing away his keepsakes, her fumbling all over the interviews, her overall composure, and lastly, her death. It doesn’t add up in my book. Why visit Wendy’s not twice, BUT three times all in the time span of what is it now 2 hrs? First it was said the employee served Melinda one time and again several hrs later. Next it changed to two times within a 30 minute time span, and now it’s 3xs. WTF? Make sense out of this for me. They say that the 3rd trip was to use the restroom at the facility. The same employee that served Melinda twice happened to nearly run into her as Melinda was walking to the restroom. Weird.

One article
Less than a half-hour later, Duckett returned to the fast-food restaurant alone to pick up chicken tenders, according to a Wendy’s worker who served her both times. She likely returned a third time, hours later, again without the child, the Wendy’s server told investigators.

The three sightings, first reported to law enforcement Sept. 27, have prompted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to start its own investigation into the Leesburg boy’s disappearance, holding a belief that the toddler is still alive.
Another article
The witness said Duckett visited a Wendy’s restaurant in Belleview two times on Saturday, Aug. 26. The witness told police that the encounters were memorable because the witness asked Duckett what her son’s name was when she went through the drive-through.

Then, several hours later, Duckett went through the drive-through again, but this time Trenton was not with her, the witness said.
And another article
She said she first saw the mother and son come through the drive-through around 11:30 a.m. on August 27, and remembered asking Melinda Duckett what her son’s name was.

Melinda Duckett came back through the drive-through about 30 minutes later, the woman told police, but this time she was alone.
And and yet another
The employee said Duckett came to the restaurant’s drive-through window twice that day — once with Trenton and once without.

The employee remembered seeing Melinda Duckett’s distinctive tattoo on her left arm and recalled having a conversation about the boy’s name. She asked Duckett what her son’s name was, and since the employee was wearing a headpiece, she first thought Duckett said, “Denton.”

Duckett corrected her and said that his name was Trenton.

The employee said Duckett came back through the drive-through just 20 or 30 minutes later, but this time, Trenton was not with her.
Melinda’s memory should be the last thing on anyones mind. she chose to take her life because she realized that the things she was doing was wrong. she even said it herself “even after my baby is found, i would not be a good mother”So its time to face the facts here and as all this plays out maybe those who loved her will find closure knowing the details that lead to her suicide. the truth is she must have felt bad saying she worked 2 jobs went to school took care of Trenton and never had enough time. maybe if she had stayed off the computer she would have had more time. then porn is one thing but when you start putting a crib and a bottle in your sex movies thats a bit different. did it occur to you that she did not like who she became and that is why she took her own life and rest assured, it wasnt because of Nancy Grace or the media it was her being ashamed of her behavior and her selfishnessshe didnt even tell her own family where Trenton was.

I think its pretty lousy to say that to Ashley.
Its not Ashley’s fault what choices Melinda made any more then it was Josh’s fault or Nancy Grace’s fault the choices that Melinda made.
I think we can still have sympathy for Ashley who lost her friend.

I think Melinda knows dam well what happened to her son and I also think that this “person of interest” knows too. He should of came forward to tell the investigators that she called him that day, Saturday 8/27 and being he works right across the street. WHat is he hiding? did she pay him to kill trenton? Something is just not adding up….anybody agree?

I believe that the plan that was perpetrated is now starting to unravel. And that anyone who may have had any knowledge only has one option now. Cause when Chen goes down, it will all come out and everyone who participated or had knowledge will become known. The only hope that anyone else has of saving themselves, is to come forward with full disclosure. Then they have some hope that with cooperation it might go easier for them. If they wait till it comes out, if they wait till they are tracked down, they will likely get the max. This is a national case and the judicial system will prosecute to the max….both as an example to others and to show how strong they are on crime.

Lawluver75, I do agree that he should have come forward 3 months ago. I am totally furious that all her friends seem to think this is some type of game. I personally would love to see the DA slam them all with criminal charges.
Hindering an investigation, obstruction of justice. Whatever they can come up with.
There is a 2 year old baby missing.
Chen, the new POI is actually making a joke of the entire thing by changing his MySpace name to “I, the person of interest”.
Like it did not occur to him to contact the police when he heard that Melinda was visiting him during the critical hours before she reported Trenton missing?
