Parents Behaving Badly

Lawrence Trujillo, Denver Hit and Run Driver, Owed Back Child Support

by admin on November 14th, 2006

Scene of accident in Denver, ColoradoRecently we were witness to a horrible tragedy in Denver, Colorado, when a man named Lawrence Trujillo drove drunk through a red light and killed a mother and her two children. The incident has led people to ask: what kind of man is Lawrence Trujillo?

Answers to that question are leaking in…and they’re not good. Trujillo is the father of three kids by a previous relationship, including a 14-year-old daughter and two 12-year-old twins. PBB has seen documentary proof* that Trujillo also had an outstanding bench warrant against him for his failure to appear - twice - before a judge for nonpayment of child support. The failure to appear landed him in jail on September 20th. On the 22nd, Trujillo posted bond in the amount of $5,000 and walked out a free man - for the moment.

Unfortunately, his ability to post bond proved fatal to Rebecca, Macie and Garrison Bingham.

Not only did Trujillo inflict irreparable harm upon another family - he inflicted financial harm upon his own kids. This wasn’t a man who made a single stupid, fateful decision; this was a trainwreck of a human being who was careening recklessly through life, hurting everybody who made the mistake of loving him. And as if that weren’t bad enough, he had to destroy a family whose only crime was going out for hot chocolate.

(* NOTE: I’m keeping the details of this information private in order to protect the identity and privacy of Trujillo’s family.)

I am good friends with one of the children of Lawrence. One of the 2 who he had custody of. From what he tells me he was a great dad and very loving and it has crushed him to see his dad locked up. As for the other children he has, I would like to know how you know so much personal information on his life. Did you know him? I believe that everyone is born with the desire to be and do “good”. Sometimes having too many responsibilities can blind you from that desire(and it sounds like he had too many responsibilities than he could handle) and that makes people do things that are not right even though they know they are not right. I am by no means saying that he should go un-punished for what he did, but don’t judge him on the other things in his life. He has to live out the rest of his life knowing and regreting what happened that night, and for anyone with a soul that is to horrible to imagine. EVERYONE involved is a victim. The Family that was hit and everyone who loved them. they did not deserve this, the family and friends of Lawrence, who have to live their lives with the same for his actions, and lawrence himself, it was his ations that caused this tragedy and he has that regret on his soul for the rest of eternity.

Erik, weren’t you the passenger who agreed to cover up the crime by helping to hide the truck?

The idea that “everyone involved is a victim” takes personal responsibility out of the equation and that’s the kind of thinking that leads to this tragedy.

While all the factors that led to this crime were really unappetizing, it’s the actual crime and the extreme indifference afterward that both men in that truck exhibited that make this so reprehensible.

Neither one made any effort to obtain help for the family that was soooo brutally destroyed.

In fact, their response to the horror and regret that they allegedly feel was to cover it up and get back behind the wheel, each of them, to drive drunk again.

It’s what they did in the aftermath that tells you what kind of people they are.

First of all, NO I was not involved in the accident. The person you’re thinking of is Eric Snells. My name is even spelled differently. Is that a joke or are you just plain IGNORANT. I’m not even going to attempt to have a converstaion with someone so completly ignorant.

Everyone wants to be good, as someone who personally knew Larry, I know he can’t for extended periods. I dated him while he was married & He was a good father when he was around - & you can confirm with his kids, wife, and string of other girlfiends. He would go missing for days at a time every couple months .. drunk possibly on drugs .. and drain out their money. He wasn’t even on the accounts to ensure he didn’t blow all their money on one of his many bends. This wasn’t the first time, sadly for Becca, Macie, and Garrison and poor Frank. If there is justice - it will be his last.

I have a weird question. Does anyone know if he had a dog named Duke? I found and elderly blonde lab and a man named Larry Trujillo supposedly is the owner. All of the phone numbers are bad. I took him to Table Mountain Animal Shelter and would hate for him to be put to sleep. He was very sweet but I already have 2 large dogs.
