Parents Behaving Badly

Dad Kills Daughter with Chloroform in Revenge for Wife’s Affair; Gets Life

by admin on November 3rd, 2006

ChloroformOh, here’s a son of a bitch for the ages. 33-year-old British father Gavin Hall used chloroform to suffocate his 3-year-old daughter Amelia to death, after giving her antidepressants to make sure she wouldn’t struggle. His motive: revenge against his wife, who had had an affair with another man. To top it all off, he killed the family’s two cats, then laid the girl and the cats out in a macabre scene in the living room

Gee, Gavin. I wonder why your wife would ever even think to cheat on you. You sound like such a loving, caring person.

Hall has been sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole in 15 years. Too bad. A guaranteed lifetime cell assignment seems like the only proper punishment here.

Really - how hard is it to leave? If you don’t like your wife fucking a judge she met on a sex site, then divorce her. A simple, clean solution that doesn’t involve killing your innocent child. Sadly, few moms and dads ever act rationally when they’re in the grip of their own emotional drama. We’ve seen these type of “revenge killings” all too often here - most notably in the cases of Elaine Campione and Jim Junior Nice. For these parents, their world erodes; the lives of themselves and their kids become meaningless; all they’re focused on is giving their spouses one final, fatal kick to the stomach. And what better way to exact revenge on your partner than by destroying that which they love above anything else? It’s a sad, demented state of mind, buttressed by the evidence of hate and the logic of insanity.

You fail to mention that this man attempted suicide at the same time and required nearly 200 stitches. This was a pityful cry for help from a desparate man. There is no excuse for what he did but he must live with what he did for the rest of his life. This man wished to be dead and both phycologists for both defence and prosecution agreed that he was disturbed unfortunately what he did was still murder. You also state how hard is it to leave. You obviously don’t have kids. If he left he had been threatened with never seeing his kids again.

Try reading court transcipts before making your blogs based on newspaper reports and give a balanced account of what happened. The whole family is suffering at what happened and I’m sure Mr Hall has a relations who are also affected.

Unless you have family members who have been through a parent child killing then you will have no idea how everyone on all sides of the family suffer.

“You also state how hard is it to leave. You obviously don’t have kids.”

I have six. So there goes THAT theory.

Are you actually saying that it’s easier to leave than it is to KILL YOUR OWN DAUGHTER? What bullshit.

I’m sad. Sad that this guy wasn’t successful in taking himself out at the same time as he killed his daughter.

I have no sympathy for this kind of character either. Whatever the “sins” of his wife, they don’t even measure with his pure, manipulative evil. That he tried to take himself out as a final piece of drama (but failed) doesn’t make any difference.

This is a cry for help from a mentally unstable person who needed help. I can understand what he was going through my family suffered a parent child murder. I would not call it evil just mentally unstable. There is no excuse for it but when he has served his recommended sentence (15years) in this case it will be likely he will be released as there will be a low chance of him re-offending.
