South African Mom Invents Kidnapping, Pisses Off Police But Good
Straight outta South Africa comes an amazing story which shows that stupidity and attention-seeking know no national boundaries. Lutricia Mekhoe told police an impassioned tale about how her 6-year-old daughter, Lebohang, was kidnapped right in front of her. As it turns out, there were a few flaws in her story. Actually, one major flaw: it was a total load. After spending thousand of rand and seven hours looking for the girl by land and chopper, police finally wised up, and found Lebohang safe and sound at her grandparents’ home. Apparently, Mekhoe hasn’t even had custody of her daughter for years. Mom is now in jail for her mischief, and will likely have to wait quite a while longer before she can see her little girl again.
(For the record, Lebohang’s grandfather blames her mom’s behavior on drugs. Isn’t that typical? People are always harshing on the drugs.)
