Iraq-Bound Teen’s Father Helped Him Enter Country
Wow. I’ve resisted blogging about Farris Hassan, the teen who snuck out of the US and somehow wormed his way into Iraq in order to go “the extra mile” on a school project. From early news reports, it didn’t seem that his parents had a hand in abetting his mad scheme. Well, that’s all changed. It seems Hassan’s dad, Redha Hassan, got his boy papers into the country after the overzealous teen called him from Kuwait. Hassan Sr.’s logic? “When asked why he helped, Hassan said his son had come so far by the time he called that he couldn’t see not helping him.” Um, you mean outside of the whole WAR ZONE thing??
Farris Hassan is now safely back in America. No thanks to his father.

Well now then, the hubby is even more correct in asking the family to repay what tax payers had to shell out to get this kid home.

Sheesh, this kid’s a geek on steroids! I mean, when I was a kid, I once walked a few miles to get to a state park from where I lived and hitched a ride back. But going all the way to Baghdad for a school project is… A little much!
