Woman beats daughter with a stick
A Romanian mother living in Ireland has plead guilty to beating her four-year-old daughter with a stick. The woman was not without her excuses: she was “stressed” about her rejected asylum application, she was drunk, and — hey — crap like this happens all the time in the old country. (Let’s not even get into her leaving her infant son at home in the care of the four-year-old alone, while she went to the bar so she could get drunk and thus have a good excuse for why she beat her child so badly there were bruises all over her body.)
She and her husband have both been given suspended sentences. Luckily, their children will not be living with them for the rest of their childhood.
