Parents Behaving Badly

Mother Drowns Three Children in San Francisco

by Nicole on October 20th, 2005

SFpier.jpgThe voices in the head of a 23-year-old woman told her to strip her three small children naked and throw them off a San Francisco fishing pier into the bay. Or at least that’s what the authorities say.

I myself believe the voices were really one voice: that of bystander Christina Todd, who told reporters, “It reminds me of the Andrea Yates case. We just moved here from Houston a month ago, and we were there for that. And now this. It’s awful, just awful.”

You know those people who will go on vacation and it’ll be all sunny at the beach and then when they show up the whole week will turn into one torrential downpour after another and ruin your vacation? I think Chrisina Todd is like that. Except with mothers, children, and water.

Christina, don’t you dare move your sorry butt to Massachusetts. I’ll be watching for you.

Wow. There sure are some sickos out there.

I sure hope Christina doesn’t read this though. I mean, really, wasn’t it enough for her to have to witness it? I think you kinda crossed the line on this one. It’s not like the woman actually had anything to do with either case. Pick on the sicko who threw her kids into the baby, not the innocent witness.

This isn’t the first time a loony mother throws a defenseless child into the Bay. I think it was in Antioch about a year ago or so where another mother did the same but fortunately there was a bystander who jumped into the water and saved the kid. In this current case, being that the Embarcadero is a tourist attraction always full of people, why didn’t anyone jump in to save the kids??

Satire. Comedy. Sarcasm. Look ‘em up.

I dig where momma2mingbu is coming from. However, from the article, it didn’t sound like the bystander in question witnessed the actual drowning. (If she did, I would hope that she would have either jumped in or called for help.) It sounded like she was hanging around watching the rescuers, which is an activity just about as tacky as my post.

I didn’t get the impression that any witnesses jumped in the water after them, which is kinda sad considering the typically crowded area where it happened. Sounded like the authorities responded pretty quickly, unfortunately it still wasn’t enough.

Her oldest was 6 years old - I know my 6 year old would have fought me like a tiger if I tried to do something nutso like that to him. He probably would have tried to protect his sisters too. Those poor kids.
