Two Toddlers Scalded to Death
A couple who were sleeping off a heroin and cocaine binge also slept through the deaths of their two toddlers. On July 29, the children, nearly three-year-old Elijaha Santana and 20-month-old David Maldonado Jr. “were scalded to death, trapped for more than two hours in a steamy bathroom with the water running so hot their temperatures reached 108 degrees.” Child Protective Services had investigated the couple a few months earlier, but didn’t follow up.
Read the article if you want to see the train wrecks that are the lives of David Maldonado and Luz Arroyo. He’s been indicted on charges of second-degree manslaughter and she’s been charged with criminally negligent homicide.
I’ll highlight the important life lessons learned:
–Got kidney stones? Seizures? Cocaine, heroin, and Ambien will help with that (and solve your sleep problems!).
–It’s always important to feed kids breakfast. Try to pick up doughnuts, soda and candy; these are easily found on the way to pick up cocaine from your dealer.
–If the skin is peeling off someone’s feet, chances are they’ve been burned.
–Don’t know CPR? No problem! Just breathe into the kids’ mouths and press on their chests. That’ll make up for a lifetime of neglect!
–When CPS comes to your apartment in May and says that you aren’t taking care of your children, don’t get offended — prove them right by contributing to their deaths two months later.
