Father Pleads Guilty to Killing Daughter
It seems that the award for “most creative way to smother your infant daughter to death” award goes to Timothy Panganiban, who will be spending 16 years in a Connecticut prison for the deed. While most of us would agree that a pillow or hand would be the way to do the job, Panganiban decided that using the back of his knee was more effective in quieting the crying baby. It seems that this activity is a little-known sleep inducer, because he fell asleep while doing this and “woke up to find his leg ’suction-cupped’ to his daughter’s face.”
The crime occured in 2001 and was initially undetermined, but assumed to be a SIDS death. Police never would have discovered the real cause of Leilani Panganiban’s death had not her mother broken the leg of their six-week-old son in 2004. The wife’s case is up in late October — I can’t wait to see the creative method she used to break a baby’s leg!
