Anne Heche Tells Her Gay-Hating Mama To Shut-Up

Actress Anne Heche is lashing out at her mother, Nancy Heche, for her anti-gay crusade. Nancy routinely speaks at Focus on the Family events, claiming that her prayers helped break-up her daughter’s high-profile relationship with Ellen DeGeneres, and cured Anne of her lesbianism.
While Heche is currently married to a man, with whom she had a baby, she denies that she is an “ex-gay”, or that sexuality played a part in her break-up with Ellen. Heche said, “Ellen and I had a three and a half year relationship that ended sadly, not because we were both women, but because we both wanted different things for our lives,”
Heche went on to say, “The “Ex-gay” events that are going on right now make me sick. The fact that my mother is using my name to promote this movement makes me even sicker. I could not disagree more adamantly with what she and her group of unloving, unaccepting, Bible preaching hate mongers are doing. I do not believe that homosexuality is something that should be brainwashed out of someone. I do not believe that homosexuality should be anything but celebrated if that is the thing that makes an individual feel good about their life. I believe, as I have always said, that people should love who they want to love.”

I’ve been quiet lately because sometimes it’s just too much.
My son got sucked in by one of the religious groups and “reformed” briefly. I was noncomittal but thought it was nonsense. Fortunately, he was restored to sanity. I don’t understand parents who attach conditions to love and I certainly don’t understand hatred.
He’s a good, moral, person by any standards except those of the religious fanatics. I do take it personally; this is my kid they’re condemning.

Good for Ann Heche, and good for your son, Ann. No one should have to pretend about who they really are.
