Meth Lab Grandpa Had Cookery Next to Baby’s Room
I haven’t bought into the whole “meth craze” media circus. 20 years ago, heroin was the supposed killer running rampant through our cities. 10 years ago, it was crack. Now, it’s meth’s turn to be the scourge of civilization. But just because the phenomenon is overhyped doesn’t mean that drug addicts don’t do stupid, dangerous shit. Gary Blake is a case study in this. The 47-year-old grandfather and amateur chemist set up his own Fisher Price My First Meth Lab next door to the room in which his 18-month-old granddaughter slept. Needless to say, Druggie McCooksalot is now facing drug and child endangerment charges. No word on where the mom is in this breadwinning family.

I think we have the distinction of being the meth capital of the country (or maybe it’s the state). We’ve had several drug busts where half a dozen kids have been removed.
I don’t have a clue which drug is the most dangerous to use, I stay away from all of them, but I’m pretty sure meth is the most dangerous to prepare. It gives off toxic fumes and sometimes houses blow up. Plus, as you say, it’s amateurs doing the cooking. Not only is it a crummy way to make a living but it’s inexcusable to have kids anywhere near it.
