Mom Who Beat Child into Coma Defended as “Loving, Kind Woman”
Hey, leave Weili Kao alone. She’s a good stepmom. She just, you know, made a little mistake. Unfortunately, that “mistake” was a beating so severe it put her stepdaughter Truly into a coma, from which the child has not awakened 15 months later. What’s even more despicable, Kao’s wife Thomas Lo and his sister Mercy defended the mom at the sentencing hearing. They claimed that the 7-year-old was “rebellious”, and that Kao was simply trying to bring order to her life. Order? By beating her with a hanger and strangling her for five minutes? I can understand sticking up for your family - but not when one of them has practically killed your child. The judge didn’t buy it, either: he sentenced the wicked stepmother to over 16 years in jail.

I guess what caught my attention was the attitude of the relatives. How could they stand by and let this happen and then continue to defend that woman? They’re blaming a six year old. Didn’t anyone care about that child?
