Did Olivia Newton-John’s beau skip town over child support?
A week or so ago, news media began reporting that Olivia Newton-John’s boyfriend of several years, Patrick Kim McDermott, had been missing since early July. (Way to jump on the story, guys.) Now comes this report from the Associated Press that McDermott owed back child support for his 13-year-old son, and was involved in a legal row with his ex over it.
Why is that relevant? Because police are investigating the theory that McDermott staged his own disappearance to avoid paying out support. McDermott’s ex-wife, soap opera star Yvette Nipar, has alleged in the past that McDermott is an angry man and a terrible father. We’ll see how this plays out. If McDermott isn’t dead and did indeed skip, then he’s one right bastard for putting so many people through so much misery.
